Sanne’s city tour
-: The 2007 Diversity Conference Dinner :-
Cruise on Amsterdam's seventeenth-century canals and see the famous waterfront façades. You will see the city's sights, including the quaint arched bridges, the narrowest canal, the Dutch East India Company ship De Amsterdam and the Magere Brug Bridge. The trip will take both the Old and the Modern Harbours.

Cancellation Policy: Cancellation of dinner booking: 85% of the dinner fee will be refunded up to one calendar month prior to the conference. No refund will be granted for cancellations within one month of the conference.

MYTH in the Municipal Theatre
The director of the Municipal Theatre would like to make a special offer for the visitors of Diversity Conference. On the opening night of “Julidans” he would like to arrange a reception especially for you, followed by the performance by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui. Since this is the opening night of the international dance festival “Julidans”, you are invited to a special reception after the performance. Here you will get to meet the Amsterdam alderman for Culture and other dignitaries.
MYTH is the latest work of the legendary Belgian-Moroccan choreographer Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui. The man has only just turned thirty, but he has already built up an international reputation. With apparent effortlessness, he builds bridges between divergent cultures, and between dance styles and techniques, resulting in highly contemporary themes: What does faith mean to each of us? How does time affect us? His performances dare to start telling stories again, even though they are layered and pluralistic. This makes his work both accessible and complex.
His earlier work includes Rien de Rien, Zero Degrees (with Akram Khan), Foi (with Capilla Flamenca), Tempus Fugit and D’Avant (with Damien Jalet).
For ‘Myth’, Cherkaoui will be bringing together a number of dancers in Antwerp who are companions in misfortune. He will be exploring with them how an event can permanently mark a person.
To Sidi Larbi, this does not merely imply an injury, but also an opportunity for enrichment and for discovering unknown talents. The singer Patrizia Bovi, an expert in traditional Italian music, and her ensemble Micrologus will be Larbi’s musical partners on stage.

University bike tour
What would be more fun than a “university” bike tour with a local through the several districts in Amsterdam? You will pass the famous canals, the chic Old South and a special event for you, you will experience the students’ life in Amsterdam and hear very interesting stories! You will meet the local at Dam square (right by the National Monument) in Amsterdam. The bikes are waiting for you in the centre. The local will bring you there. You will begin your trip in the quiet part in the east of Amsterdam with beautiful parks and a lot of nature. Via the famous Vondelpark you will come into a real local neighbourhood where the local will tell you also an interesting story about a Dutch “coffee shop”. Finally you will bike through the authentic Jordaan to go back via the Red light district to the starting point. But not without ending with a drink in a real local pub!

Dutch students friends
Experience the real boat feeling like Dutch students friends do on sunny days in Amsterdam. That is possible on the boat of Jasper and Jan Willem, two friends who you can find often on the water where they like to show people the city. When you step on the boat, you can choose where you would like to go. This boat can float everywhere, a spacious boat for a big group of people but also this boat can float under every bridge and, as the result, you can spot places where the canal boats cannot go.

Sanne’s city tour
For years, Sanne has indulged in the history of the city Amsterdam. He organizes architecture walking tours in Amsterdam and has a broad interest in art, culture and design. It is up to you to determine the route and interests, a real local tour specially made for you!
Sanne, in daily life a graphic designer, has travelled a lot and also enjoyed local life in other countries. He knows like no other what you want to know about the city of Amsterdam. Together, you will survey historical Amsterdam. You will start at Dam square (right by the National Monument) and make a tour to all the hidden spots in Amsterdam.
